Wheels have been put in motion for a fascinating community week in Kingussie, set to climax on Sunday with ‘the Highlands’ biggest wall wheel!’

At the Badenoch capital’s Iona Gallery talented locals have been turning up to turn their wheels into beautiful art works, which will go on show across an entire wall of the building in Spey Street (on the corner of Duke Street).

“This year’s Community Week is all about upcycling,” explained co-ordinator Katie Jackson.

“Locals folk have been enthusiastically decorating old bike wheels and visitors are more than welcome to join in with the creative fun.

“The Caberfeidh Trainees have been very busy, along with members of the Society of Badenoch and Strathspey Artists, a craft group from Cairngorm Connexions and others.”

Sunday will see an exhibition of upcycled work at a special repair cafe from 2 – 5pm.

“Everyone is welcome to bring along clothes, bags, toys, outdoor gear, bikes, electricals, ceramics, household items, jewellery in need of repair.”
