Kingussie preparing now for Creative Showcase in June

The 'art' is pumping once more in the strath after the creative stagnation of the Covid lockdown.

The Society of Badenoch and Strathspey Artists have celebrated the First Minister's announcement of an April 26 re-opening for the nation's galleries and museums, although locally they will walk before running any new exhibitions.

The members are planning an 'open' exhibition entitled Lockdown Creations for June, for local works which were started on or after March 23 last year when the first lockdown was instigated.

But as the perfect precursor to the exhibition, Kingussie High School will stage its own Creative Showcase from June 2 until June 6, with doors open from 1pm to 5pm each day.

The two events will get the 'show' on the road well and truly once more and wide-ranging programme for the rest of the season is being finalised.

Anyone wanting to enter potential work for the SBSA open exhibition ‘Lockdown Creations’ should email badenochandstratharts@gmail.com for an entry form, or telephone Dave Fallows on 07543 643413.
