An ACE time to help improve Aviemore
A Strathspey community improvement group holding its AGM next week is appealing for more people to get involved.
Aviemore Community Enterprise (ACE) Ltd is on the look out for new members to help make the village an even better place to live.
ACE is holding its AGM this Monday (February 22), virtually due to the on-going Covid pandemic.
Chairwoman Judith Bell said the group is trying to build awareness of ACE in the local community
The pandemic has had a detrimental effect on some of its operations but the group has still recorded some big successes in recent times.
ACE has just been awarded £29,300 from the Scottish Government's Town Centre Fund for further hard landscaping works to Aviemore village green including resurfacing paths, an access ramp and new stone-built seating.
Ms Bell said: “We are delighted to be able to invest further in our much-loved village green. The work will be completed over the next few months, and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors back to the green as soon as we can.”
Another of the group’s biggest recent successes was raising nearly £6000 through a race night to improve the village’s winter lights.
