Floridians brighten up Aviemore for big run

The latest Aviemore Parkrun was made more all the more colourful today (Saturday, October 26) by a group of Americans guests.

The team gave out their own necklaces, medals and t-shirts to some of the participants in the popular event's 126th running.

They were all part of a running group from Florida.

"We also had a group of locals in their fancy dress/onesies/PJs!" celebrated organiser Mairi Crawford.

There were 92 people at the event, where enthusiasts ran, jogged and walked the course.

There were 41 first timers and eight new personal bests were logged.

No fewer than 16 different clubs were represented.

As ever it was all about volunteers turning out to ensure the safe running of the day and there were a stalwart team of 10 today: Lindsay Pell, Mairi Crawford, Laurence Phin, Lela Phin, Claire Howie, Bill Dewitt, Sinead Whyte, Ariana Phin, Bill Weese and Susan Weese.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Aviemore parkrun Results Page.
