All hands on deck for Grantown play park tidy-up
Residents of Grantown are being invited to help spruce up a playpark in the heart of the town later today.
Dulaig Park Renovation Project (DPRP) has organised a tidy-up of the area from 4pm to 6pm.
Volunteers are being sought to pick up litter, cut back overgrown bushes and weed the toddler play area.
Equipment will be provided, including gloves, litter-pickers, tools, bin bags and hand sanitiser.
Litter-pickers are being provided by the Highland Council and loppers will come from the Cairngorms National Park Authority.
DPRP chairwoman, Sheena Corcoran, said: “We are delighted to hold this event and are looking forward to seeing members of the community coming together again.
“We hope that it will be an opportunity to catch up with friends as well as give the area some TLC.
“The park is well-used by all age groups and, while efforts are ongoing to raise money for the renovation project, it is important to keep the area clean and tidy.”
“Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the bridge in the park.”
The Dulaig Park Renovation Project was set-up by local parents to modernise the park including replacing dilapidated play equipment.
