A95 motorists are facing more disruption by Boat of Garten
Motorists using the A95 by Boat of Garten face nearly a fortnight added disruption.
Amey is undertaking further overnight surfacing improvements on an additional section of the road by the village.
The work gets under way next Thursday (November 14) and run to November 25.
The on-going works were scheduled to finish this Wednesday.
The latest project costing £180,000 will address defects on approximately 470 metres of the A95 trunk road between the Drumuillie eastern gateway and Gartenbeg.
The essential maintenance will complement a recent £565,000 investment Amey has undertaken to resurface 1420 metres of the A95 between Boat of Garten and 100 metres south of the Kinveachy junction.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures on Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
There will be no overnight work on each Friday and Saturday night during the work period on November 15 to 16 and Friday November 22 and Saturday November 23.
All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on November 25.
The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures.
Southbound traffic will leave the A95 at Dulnain Bridge, turning right onto the A938 and continuing to Carrbridge, then turning left onto the B9153 and rejoining the A95 at Kinveachy. Northbound traffic will take the route in reverse.
In addition, amnesties to allow traffic through the works area will be available at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11.30pm, 1.30am, 3am and 5am each night.
Traffic will be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.
An Amey spokesperson said: “The resurfacing will benefit more than 4,400 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
