A95 roadworks planned next week.

Overnight surfacing improvements are set to start on the A95 at Boat of Garten from Sunday, October 27th and continue until Saturday, November 16.

The £565,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on 1422 metres of the trunk road.

Work will take place between 75 metres north of the Boat of Garten/Nethy Bridge junction and 100 metres south of the Carrbridge junction.

“To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures on Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am,” a spokesperson said today.

“There will be no overnight work on each Friday and Saturday night during the work period, Friday 1st/Saturday 2nd November and Friday 8th/Saturday 9th November.

“All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Saturday 16.”

The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures:

Southbound traffic will leave the A95 at Dulnain Bridge, turning right onto the A938 and continuing to join the A9 southbound and rejoining the A95 at Granish. Northbound traffic will take the route in reverse.

In addition, amnesties to allow traffic through the works area will be available at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11.30pm, 1.30am, 3am and 5am each night.

“Please note that traffic will be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.”

Local traffic from Carrbridge should follow the A938 and join the southbound A9 to Granish to join the A95. Local traffic for Boat of Garten should use the junction at Drumullie or the B970 to access the village.

“The resurfacing will benefit more than 4,000 vehicles who use the route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

“All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.”

A free Road Work Alerts service is available from the company website, an email address all that is required to sign up for the service.
