A9 remains closed after serious accident involving two lorries near Carrbridge





The accident occured near to the Blackmount junction which connects Carrbridge with the A9 Inverness-Perth road.

The A9 road remains closed by Carrbridge after a serious accident understood to involve two HGVs at the Blackmount junction.

The collision occurred at around 4.15am earlier today.

Emergency are still at the scene by the junction and the road is currently closed between Inverness and Carrbridge.

It has not been confirmed by police if there have been any fatalities and casualties in the accident.

The Strathy contacted the police a short time ago and was told the arterial road remains closed but said that no further update was available from police officers at the scene.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if at all possible.

Lorries are being stacked on the A9 Inverness-Perth road until the road is cleared.
