Police Scotland have confirmed that the A9 at Crubenmore, Dalwhinnie is now passable following an incident involving a tanker bearing liquid nitrogen.

It was at 1.30 that smoke was noticed coming from a wheel housing and emergency services were quickly on the scene.

It transpires the fire, among the bearings, was contained and there were no injuries.

The road was closed for period and BEAR Scotland signs will reportedly remain in place to guide traffic around the site until the tanker has been moved on.
