Police have named the motorist who died in the latest A9 crash.

The motorist who died in yesterday's A9 crash at Dalwhinnie was named today (Thursday, March 31).

She was 44-year-old Amanda Harold, from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.

The crash occurred at around 10.45am on Wednesday, emergency services being alerted from across the Strathspey and Badenoch area.

The collision, just to the north of the village, involved a black Mazda 6 and a grey Vauxhall Astra. The sole occupant of the Mazda, Ms Harold died at the scene.

A man and woman and two young children travelling in the Astra sustained cuts and bruises.

The road was closed for around six hours to allow for a full investigation to take place.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist enquiries to make contact via 101.
