"The A9 is closed in both directions at Inshes due to stationary traffic and the road being impassable due to adverse conditions on the A9 both ways between A96 (Raigmore Interchange) and B9177 (Culloden Turn Off)."

Vehicles are experiencing issues with traction due to the adverse weather conditions, a spokesperson said.

Heavy snow is still falling in the strath having started early this morning.

Gusts have taken blizzard conditions to most corners of Badenoch and Strathspey and more snow is forecast for the next couple of days.
