Following the one-vehicle crash and the closure of the strategic Badenoch route, a Police Scotland spokesperson revealed that a 52-year-old female motorist had been reported.

“We were called around 2.10pm on Tuesday, August 2 to a report of a one car crash on the A86 between Newtonmore and Laggan," the spokesperson confirmed at the time.

Police closed the road last week after the RTA.

“A 33-year-old woman, a passenger, was taken by heli-med to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with injuries which were later confirmed as non-life threatening.”

The road was closed in both directions and lengthy diversions were put in place.

The road only re-opened around 6pm after the crash had been cleared and investigations made.
