Nairn 55-year-old man faces attempted murder charge

A 55-year-old Nairn man has appeared in private accused of the attempted murder of his partner or ex partner in a property in the town’s Royal Walk at the weekend.

Kevin Henderson, who was represented by Inverness solicitor Marc Dickson, made no plea to seizing the woman by the throat repeatedly, thus restricting her breathing and threatening to kill her on May 17.

It is also alleged that he assaulted another adult in the property to his injury by repeatedly kicking him on the head and body and compressing his neck.

A third charge alleges he shouted, swore and behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He will appear again within the next eight days.
