£450,000 essential refurbishment of A95 bridge will take 10 weeks

A £450,000 refurbishment of the A95 Bridge of Avon at Ballindalloch is to get under way this weekend.

Amey is carrying out the work from this Sunday (May 11) until Friday 25th July.

The contractor has said the essential maintenance on behalf of Transport Scotland is required to maintain the safety and integrity of the bridge.

An Amey spokesperson said: “Work will include resurfacing of the carriageway, replacement of the bridge deck waterproofing and replacement of the bridge expansion joints.

“To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the refurbishment will be carried out under 24/7 temporary traffic lights on the bridge for the duration of the works.

“The lane closures will alternate between lanes on the A95 Bridge of Avon as work progresses.

“Refurbishment work will be carried out during daytime only but, due to the nature of the works, the temporary traffic lights are required to be in place 24/7.”

The works and timings are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.
