An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence following a fatal crash on the A9 near Aviemore.

The crash, involving a blue Skoda Octavia and a white Toyota Hilux pick-up, happened around 1.45pm on Tuesday March 5, earlier this year, near Lynwilg.

The driver of the Skoda, 60-year-old Roy Bannerman, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries where he died on Friday March 8.

The 18-year-old man had previously been arrested and released pending further enquiries.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
