'Never mind the weather' say Aviemore Park Runners
Some 63 hardy souls happily accepted the slush and low cloud for today’s parkrun in Aviemore.
There were significant performances from two locals.
The first of the milestones was reached by Brenda Paul, who notched up her 100th outing, while Emma Sinclair completed her 50th to match her recent completion of 50 volunteering occasions.
Today’s was the first parkrun ever for a total of nine people and a first time at Aviemore for 11 more experienced participants.
"We look forward to welcoming them all back another time, perhaps when they can enjoy the views a bit more clearly!" said race director Hilary Quick.
"Everyone is welcome at parkrun, just come along for the briefing at 9:20 any Saturday."
Venue details are at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/aviemore/
All participants are asked to register with parkrun before turning up, and to bring their barcode with them.
There was a big Thank You to all the volunteers for happily standing in the sleet to make the event happen - Stephen Bingham, Bill Dewitt, Nicola Diggins, Jan Gray, David Machin, Val Machin, Seonaid McLaren, Hilary Quick, Zoe Russell.
