MCDOWALL - (Grantown-on-Spey). Jane would like to thank all those who have been so kind in sending cards and good wishes of sympathy at Jim's passing, after a long struggle. Particular thanks are due to the Grandview 'family' for their unstinting care and support over the past four years, without which she would have found it very difficult to 'keep her head above water'. Thanks also to the doctors and other staff at Grantown Health Centre who attended to Jim and also, from NHS Inverness, Dr Chima and Dr Rajan. Special thanks to Nikki, Susan and staff at John Ross Funeral Services, and Elaine for her flowers; to Spud who made the day special by playing his bagpipes; to those who kindly stood at Burnfield, The Square and High Street to acknowledge the passing of the cortège to St Columba's Church, and to all the clergy who eased his final journey at the service and interment. Also, to The Grant Arms for opening up to offer the after-funeral tea. Contributions that were made to Alzheimer Scotland and to the Grandview Residents' Fund were much appreciated. May he rest in peace.
