The Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup final has been rescheduled for this Saturday at An Aird in Fort William, the sports governing body has just confirmed.

And entry will be by donation only for the Newtonmore - Oban Camanachd clash.

The game's biggest fixture had to be abandoned just after half-time on Saturday because of the atrocious weather.

A Camanachd Association spokesman said: "Following consultation with both clubs and the board of directors it was agreed that the 2019 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup featuring Newtonmore and Oban Camanachd will be rescheduled to take place at An Aird, Fort William on Saturday 21st September with a 3pm throw up.

"A weather inspection will be carried out on Monday and again on Wednesday 18th September to determine if there are any further weather risks for the fixture.

"Saturday conditions were unprecedented and worsened considerably as the game went on."

He added: "In celebration of all those supporters that braved the conditions the Camanachd Association would like to advise that next Saturday's final will be free entry for all, with donations accepted at the gate to help cover costs for the rearranged fixture."

Camanachd Association chief executive officer Derek Keir said: “In appreciation for those that travelled to the match on Saturday and understanding that those same people will likely wish to support their teams again in the final on September 21, the board have agreed to make entry free by donation.

"The board would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all those that attended on Saturday and to host club Fort William, all the volunteers and our staff who worked so hard to prepare An Aird for the match.

"Volunteers are at the very heart of our sport and what makes it such a special community to be part of.”

The Under 14 MacMaster Cup Final featuring Kinlochshiel and Oban Camanachd has also been provisionally scheduled to take place at An Aird this Saturday with a noon throw up time.
