Saturday's HIS Sutherland Cup Final ended in triumph for a relentless Newtonmore at Drumnadrochit's Blairbeg Park.

The Badenoch side started as they meant to continue, with a first-minute cracker from skipper Sorley Thomson.

Lovat made it all square just five minutes later, through Raymond Rennie, but the Blues and Whites were hungry for more – lots more.

The stage was set for a tour-de-four from time-served goal glutton Glen MacKintosh.

The rest of the first half saw him propel Newtonmore to dominance with conversions on 21, 25, 28.

With Badenoch firmly in control, MacKintosh added some icing on the cake with his fourth on the 87th minute.
