Strathspey Thistle have confirmed that tomorrow's scheduled home game against Turriff United is off due to a frozen pitch.

It was one of the casualties in another round of Highland League games decimated by a combination of Covid and the snow and ice.

Six matches for Saturday have now fallen by the wayside – but another fixture has been rearranged.

Lossiemouth's trip to Inverness to face Clach is the latest to be called off because of Covid-19 issues.

However, Turriff United and Inverurie Locos, whose matches were also postponed, have moved quickly to rearrange a previously cancelled fixture between the teams.

Their clash at the Haughs was called off on December 18 and has quickly been rearranged to go ahead tomorrow.

Strathspey Thistle had been struggling for numbers ahead of the game too with five players involved in the first-team set-up currently having Covid, and three of them ruled out for the weekend.

It means that the Grantown club has not played a competitive game for nearly a month.

Matches still on: Formartine United v Brechin City, Fraserburgh v Buckie Thistle, Turriff United v Inverurie Locos and Wick Academy v Keith.

Matches off: Clachnacuddin v Lossiemouth (Covid), Forres Mechanics v Brora Rangers (Covid), Fort William v Nairn County (at Nairn) (Covid)

Huntly v Deveronvale (Covid), Inverurie Locos v Rothes (Covid) and Strathspey Thistle v Turriff United (frozen and snowbound pitch).
