Last of the LTA adults tournaments played in Badenoch and Strathspey for 2025 season

Grantown Tennis Club hosted a LTA 30+ mixed doubles competition on Saturday with players from across the Highlands taking part.

The winner of Saturday's competition were Eve Wilkinson and Scott Henderson.

There were some very close matches on the four courts in play at the venue and fortunately the forecast rain stayed away for most of the fast four compass draw format.

The winning pair were number one seeds Eve Wilkinson (Rothiemurchus and Aviemore) and Scott Henderson (Inverness) who defeated Grantown pair Pauline Mitchell and Malcolm Reynolds in the final 4-0 4-1.

Finishing in third place were Lindsay Tinney and Walter Cruickshank.

Lindsay Tinney and Walter Cruickshank (both Grantown) took third place against LJ Fishpool and Colin Campbell (both R&A).

This had to be decided by a third set tiebreak which the home pair won 10-4 after the first two sets were tied 4-2 & 2-4.

The consolation final also had to be settled by a third set tie-break with Wendy Mckay and Robert Sullivan (both R&A) taking the honours 10-4 against Mandy Davidson (Grantown) and Thijs Claes (R&A) after the scoreline was 1-4 & 4-1.

Tournament referee Jane Bradley said: “All players must be congratulated for their excellent efforts and sportsmanship.”
