Bowls: Newtonmore pair to compete in Scottish Mixed Pairs

The local league for the Horton Cup has passed halfway and a close battle ensues for the title.

Aviemore are top of the pile with 21 points from four matches played.

Newtonmore lie second on 17 but have played a match fewer and have their final home match v Aviemore on Tuesday 12th July, Grantown are clinging on with 14 points from 4 matches.

Abernethy currently sit 4th with 4 points from 3 matches but all there remaining matches are at home.

Last week's results were Newtonmore 8 v Abernethy 0, Aviemore 6 v Grantown 2.

Newtonmore's Graeme Irvine and Judith Iley are due to play in the Scottish mixed pairs at Ayr on Monday. They will meet a team from the John R Fleming club in Houston, Renfrewshire.
