Hat-trick hero Ruaridh Anderson believes the Kings forwards are starting to tick - which is an ominous warning for their rivals given that the Red and Blues remain unbeaten this season.

It may have taken a while to get going but holders Kingussie proved they are in no mood to relinquish their Artemis Macaulay Cup crown as they crushed Kinlochshiel 7-2 in their first round tie at Rèaraig on Saturday.

Anderson said afterwards: “After the first 20 minutes it was as good a performance as we’ve had this season against a strong Kinlochshiel side.

“This has been the case particularly in the forward line over the last couple of weeks.

“It feels like something is starting to click where we’re working much better as a unit and creating plenty of chances and not so much relying on one individual scorer.

“Most of our goals on Saturday came from good link up play involving transitions from the midfield as well which is always encouraging as it shows we are posing threats from all over the pitch.

Anderson continued: “It’s been quite a disjointed start to the season with injuries this year but we’re starting to get a few players back so with some luck hopefully we can get a bit more consistency in the squad and keep building on our momentum”.

Anderson netted a hat-trick in the Kings’ impressive 7-2 win away to rivals Kinlochshiel at the weekend in the first round of the Artemis Macaulay Cup.
