Jags boss Ryan Esson most pleased by cleansheet in first win of the season
Jags boss Ryan Esson has said that what pleased him most with his side’s first win of the season was the cleansheet - and that is not just because he is a former keeper.
The Jags beat Lossiemouth at home 3-0 last weekend but now face the daunting prospect of an away visit to Highland League leaders Brechin City.

Defending champions Buckie are in unforgiving mood for Jags visit
He said: “The performance was really good. It was good to bounce back after the Buckie game although we were in that game at some points.
“We started the (Buckie) game well for the first 20 minutes and then we conceded a deflected goal which was unlucky and then after that some of the goals we conceded were poor.
“We got them in at half-time and asked the boys ‘Where do we go from here?’.
“Then bang we were right back it in with the two quickfire goals.
“But then we conceded the fifth - and after that what happened should not.”
But he said Buckie were capable of doing that to most of the teams in the league.
Esson continued: “So to bounce back was great and the most pleasing thing was the cleansheet.
“How many cleansheets were there last season? We are happy with the points and we move on as we have a tough game away to Brechin on Saturday.
“I thought everyone done really well and done their jobs. They are getting the tactics a bit better but we are still a work in progress.
“However, the players were much more tuned in to where they need to be on the pitch and how we deal with certain situations.”
Liam Shewan is expected to be the only player who could return from the Jags’ long list of injuries for the weekend.
Esson will get the chance in the coming weeks to work more with the players on the trainign game after a hectic run of fixtures following his arrival.
