Successful 2022 open championship at Grantown embraces all ages

The Grantown-on-Spey Open Tennis Championships 2022 concluded with 145 players aged eight and under to 45 and over competing across 32 events.

In the men's events, Rothiemurchus and Aviemore Tennis Club coach Stephen Anniss claimed first in the singles final over runner-up Ross Lyon in two straight sets.

Anniss also secured victory in the men’s doubles with partner Calvin Hepburn, overcoming Russell Dickson and Logan Urquhart with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win.

In the women’s singles final, Jasmin Taylor breezed her way to the title with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Eve Wilkinson.

Taylor, teaming with her singles final opponent Wilkinson, took the women’s doubles title with another straight sets win, over Tri Drummond and Marjory Stronach.

Other winners included Tri Drummond (women’s singles 40 and over) and Edwin Borrowman (men’s singles 45 and over).
