KINGUSSIE will have to put the disappointment of their poor showing against Newtonmore behind them with focus now quickly switching to a chance to face their rivals again in the Camanachd Cup final.

Boss John Gibson said there he would not be able to ring many changes in the search for more goals against Lovat at the Bught Park in Inverness on Saturday.

But he hopes that it will be one of those days – as there have been this season – when his side's young players click, especially with so much at stake.

He told the Strathy: "We did OK on Friday in defence and midfield but we never got any shots on target to trouble Kenny Ross. A lot of the passes to the forward line were going astray, over-hit and out of touch.

"We did not really create any good goalscoring opportunities."

Gibson expects to be able to choose from a full squad for the match. "We know that we can be very good on our day but it's a matter of our young players finding consistency.

"There is not an awful lot of personnel to change around so we'll got again and hope to perform better on Saturday."

Lovat, who are now only behind Newtonmore in the Premiership, will be favourites going into the semi-final of the Scottish but Gibson believes there is not a lot to choose between the two teams.

The Red and Blues were beaten by them at the Dell 4-2 earlier this season but the coach does not think the scoreline that day was a proper reflection of the game.

Gibson said: "It was closer than that and we certainly could have taken something from the game. There is not a big gap between any of the teams in the league and I expect it to be no different come Saturday."

He hopes that the supply for the frontline will be better to assist the young forwards.

Another telling factor could be the Kings having a bigger travelling support given that the game is a short drive along the A9 to the Highland capital.

Gibson is expecting a good turn out: "We normally a get a good following and I think this will be the case especially with it being the semi final of the Camanachd Cup."

Throw-up is at 4pm at the Inverness venue.
