Seven awards were handed out at the latest Cairngorm Cycling Club AGM.
This multitude of trophies is awarded annually for winning performances during the club’s racing season as well as a ‘Club Trophy’ award for a member who has made a significant commitment to the running of the club.
The Alexander household mantelpiece will be straining under the weight of celebratory stone and metalwork, with Lindsay and Adam both taking home a trophy for the 10 mile time trial series.
These ten races took place on an out and back route between Coylumbridge and Glenmore, and the best six results for each rider counted towards their series total.
But Lindsay trumped her husband’s haul, by also collecting an award for winning the club time trial series.
These races are run on five different courses around the strath during summer evenings, and a rider’s best three results count. Robert Taylor claimed the men’s trophy for this series.
The club’s season concluded with a double hill climb event held near Grantown. This year the fastest woman over the two climbs was Eilidh Wardlaw, and the fastest man was Martin Couthard.
The Club Trophy was presented to Bill Dewitt who has given many hours of dedication through rain, wind and midges, to ensure races have run smoothly.
All the trophies have been individually handcrafted by club members Brian Fishpool and Hamish Irvine.
