Aviemore’s Josh Peters comes back to haunt his former side

Aviemore’s Josh Peters showed his former side no mercy as he netted four goals in the first half for Buckie Thistle to sink Strathspey Thistle.

Peters’ haul including two penalties against the Jags last night at Seafield Park.

All four goals came in a 20-minute spree starting in the 24th minute, with his second 10 minues later and then two converted spotkicks in the 39th and 42nd minutes.

Liam Shewan pulled one back early in the second half (50th) for the Jags but the game ended 4-1 to the defending league champions.

However, Rothes remain bottom of the table after going down 6-1 at Fraserburgh.

The Speysiders have now conceded 100 league goals this season.

Formartine United had to rely on a second-half goal by Robert Ward to edge a 1-0 victory over Lossiemouth at North Lodge Park.

Brechin City’s interim manager Ray McKinnon got off to a winning start in Banff as they beat Deveronvale 3-0.

Second-placed Brechin were hoping for a slip-up by leaders Brora Rangers, but a second-half penalty by Connor Bunce gave the Cattachs a 1-0 win at home to Nairn County to maintain the three-point gap between the top two.

Huntly and Banks O’ Dee drew 1-1.
