A business networking event for women will be notching up an unusual first for itself when streaming live from a poly-tunnel near Grantown

Attendees will be able to visit Lynbreck Croft – which featured on BBC's This Farming Life – from the comfort of home.

There they will hear guest speaker Lynn Cassells' inspiring story of how she and partner Sandra have created a thriving croft despite having no previous agricultural background or farming experience.

The July Women’s Enterprise Networking event is being hosted by GrowBiz.

Lynn and Sandra, who write the monthly 'Life on the Croft' column in the Strathy, are passionate about working in harmony with nature and natural processes.

Their mission is to educate and enable others, and spread a positive message to help heal our broken food system and reconnect people with the land we come from.

In addition to their produce, they host tours and farming courses.

Lynn will be in conversation with Karen Martin, GrowBiz Enterprise facilitator for the Cairngorms, in the online event later this week.

Karen said: “This will be a unique WEN event, as we have never done an interview in a poly-tunnel before.

Lynbreck Croft is a fantastic example of a diverse and vibrant rural business, and also does a great job of highlighting the importance of sustainability.

"We are looking forward to hearing all that Lynn has to share.”

She added: "The Women's Enterprise Network is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded women from small businesses working in our rural communities."

The event will take place via Zoom next Thursday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and free tickets can be booked at www.growbiz.co.uk/events

As well as regular networking events, GrowBiz free enterprise support includes learning sessions, one to one advice and an award-winning mentoring programme.
