A woman has been found dead at a property in Inverness, in an incident that police are describing as "unexplained".

Police in the city were called to a home in Woodlands Court at around 11.20pm last night (Thursday) "following reports of concern for a woman".

A police spokesman said: "A 27-year-old was found dead on arrival.

“This is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are continuing.”

Responding to the news, city councillor Duncan Macpherson said: "I'm saddened by this death and my condolences go to friends and family".
