Time is running out for those who want to play a part in naming the latest star of RSPB Loch Garten, Abernethy.

"Please choose your favourite by Wednesday, July 6," said a spokeserson for the appeal at the reserve.

"Thank you!"

What's my name? You tell me - but do it by Wednesday!

The winning name will be announced in the centre's weekly Notes on Nature email on Saturday.

Ada - A name from West Africa, where many ospreys spend their winter.

Asha - Which translates to 'hope' in Sanskrit, and 'life' in Swahili - two things that this female is bringing to Loch Garten.

Dileab - A Gaelic word, pronounced 'jeel-eep', meaning legacy, which could be a fitting name for a female raising the next generation of ospreys.

Nala - The name of the lioness who becomes queen in The Lion King. We think our female osprey could also be considered a queen!

Una - A Gaelic name signifying truth and unity, with a connection to Scotland where the female is breeding.
