The Highlands' main hospital is warning that its accident and emergency department is under significant pressure and waiting times could be lengthy.
A spokesperson for Raigmore Hospital in Inverness said: "Our A&Emergency department is experiencing very high demand at this current time.
"Our teams are prioritising patients with the highest clinical need but patients attending with more minor injuries will face a long wait before being seen.
"Please be patient with our staff and those around you.
"We are doing everything we can to see those in need but our highest priority patients will be seen first.
"If you think you need to visit A&E but it's not life threatening, you can phone NHS 24 on 111, day or night.
"NHS 24 will help you get the right care in the right place, often closer to home and without the need to go to A&E. This may include a phone or video consultation."
