Traffic is “returning to normal” following an earlier crash which blocked the A9 in both directions south of Inverness.

Motorists were first alerted to the crash, which occurred on a section of road between Daviot and Moy, in an update from Traffic Scotland at 12.23pm.

Police were on the scene and remained so once the blockage was partially cleared.

The road was finally fully cleared of the blockage at around 2.50pm, although Traffic Scotland has advised that traffic is still returning to normal.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the crash, or how many vehicles were involved.

The police and Scottish Ambulance Service were both approached for comment but had not yet responded at the time of writing.
