UPDATE: A9 now closed in both directions due to three-vehicle collision





The A9 is now closed in both directions at Kingussie due to a three-vehicle collision.

Emergency services remain at the scene including an air ambulance. Five fire appliances have now left the incident. The accident occured at around 2.15pm.

There are long tailbacks in both directions from the scene of the accident understood just to be south of the A9 Spey Bridge on the outskirts of the town.

Traffic is heavy through Kingussie but flowing north on the B9152 (old A9) towards Aviemore where the A9 can be rejoined.

However, there are tailbacks for diverting southbound traffic from the town stretching back to Lynchat.
