As the latest round of national Lottery funding is announced today both the Badenoch and Strathspey Music Festival Association and Dulnain Bridge Public Hall (SCIO) have both been awarded grants.
The festival association will receive £2050 which will be used to run a dance workshop for young people across the Badenoch and Strathspey area.
And the public hall group will receive £6442 which will be used to upgrade their building's toilets and kitchen to better meet the needs of the community.
In addition Abilitynet, which provides technical support to third sector organisations delivering digitally across the Highlands, will get £7,500 and Highland Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Forum will get £10,000 towards the Highland Pride event in Inverness.
More than £3.3 million of National Lottery funding is today being shared by 282 groups across Scotland.
As the Covid-19 crisis impacts communities, many of the charities and voluntary groups receiving awards are providing support and advice to people and communities who need it the most.
Announcing today’s funding, totalling £3,384,222, Neil Ritch, the National Lottery Community Fund’s Scotland director, said: “These awards, made possible by National Lottery players, are making an amazing contribution to the nation-wide response to combat the impact of Covid-19 on local communities across Scotland. This funding will make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of more people.”
The National Lottery Community Fund, over the next six months, will focus its National Lottery funding in Scotland on those projects that support organisations and communities to respond to the challenge of Covid-19.
