Thirty-two of those were in intensive care – up one.

And sadly a further 10 people who previously tested positive for the virus have now died.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, there were no fresh cases in either NHS Orkney or NHS Eileanan Siar – although there was one new positive test in NHS Shetland, which took its running total to 230.

There were also 56 new positive tests in NHS Tayside, for an overall tally of 14,036.
