Aviemore's Spey Valley Golf Club is on the rise... and so is the water on its course.

The Macdonald's fairways are sporting some tough new water hazards following the snow melt.

The big thaw has resulted in the waters of the Spey rising to amongst their high levels in recent years and several fairways running by the river have been inundated with water.

Macdonald Spey Valley in Aviemore was up nine positions to 58th in the recently published Golf World Scotland top 100.

The strath boasts two other golf courses making the best 100 list.

Boat of Garten was the highest local course finishing 34th while Grantown was ranked 84th.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club was named the top golf course in the Highlands in the latest rankings.

The Sutherland links finished fourth overall for the second year running, behind St Andrews (Old) at number one, Turnberry (Ailsa) second and Muirfield in third place.
