Top restaurant in Badenoch and Strathspey needs some 'thinking time'

One of Badenoch and Strathspey's top ranking Trip Advisor rated restaurants has closed its doors for some 'much needed thinking time' due to the impact of coronavirus.
The popular Anderson's Restaurant in Boat of Garten has said that the recently introduced Scottish Government Covid-19 measures for the hospitality trade meaning they have to close at 6pm and barring alcohol sales indoors were the 'final straw'.
Owners Steve and Clare Anderson said yesterday on social media: "After service today, Anderson’s Restaurant will close its doors for a bit of much needed thinking time.
"We have to evaluate our business and consider our options going forward. As we are considered a ‘night time’ venue, the 6pm and no alcohol restrictions have been the final straw.
"Thank you to everyone who has lunched with us over the holidays, without you we would have closed our doors a couple weeks ago.
"We will still continue to serve takeaway pizzas from our pizza box on reduced hours (to be confirmed). Thank you to our awesome staff for keeping everyone safe.
"Difficult times for us all, but especially the hospitality trade."
Following the post, there have been plenty of well-wishes for the restaurant.
Sandra Forbes posted: "Enjoyed your hospitality when we stayed in Boat of Garten last year. You have tried so hard through this awful time for the restaurant trade. Hope things improve soon and you manage to commence business once again."
Carol McLeod stated: "Take your time, I love eating with you folks. Best dinners by far. However, I also understand you have to take stock, evaluate your business model and most important do what's right for you."
Katrina Wilson Smith posted: "Stay strong guys. We found you a long while ago whilst on holiday and loved you for your fabulous food and your special customer service."
Anderson's has been a mainstay of the restaurant scene in the strath for more than 15 years and is often the top-rated dining out local venue on Trip Advisor.
