As the Strathy suspected yesterday there ARE more wild boars out there in Badenoch.

Reports have been confirmed this evening of at least another seven of the pigs roaming in the area identified as Lower Glenfeshie.

Tim Kirkwood, chief executive of Wildland Ltd, Anders Holch Povlsen’s Aviemore-based conservation company which owns must of the area, told the Strathy: “They’ve certainly been spotted in our area and some of our people are now actively engaged in the search, backing up the team from FLS and the Cairngorms National Park Authority.

“Of course we don’t know exactly what’s happening but we are assuming they are part of the original herd and they simply got separated, although there may be other explanations.

GLENFESHIE OWNER: Anders Holch Povlsen has been informed of the latest invasion on his estate, which has been described as stupid and cruel by Tim Kirkwood, CEO of his Wildland Ltd.

“Has somebody else now decided that, prompted by this week’s culling, it was time to join in? We would certainly hope not because it’s a cruel and stupid thing to do.”

A spokesperson for Forestry and Land Scotland confirmed the animals were currently in Glenfeshie.

We will update the situation as soon as we can.

Meanwhile if anyone spots any of the animals they are advised simply to inform the police on 101.
