STRATHSPEY manager Gordy Nicolson wants his players to beat Keith on Saturday and redeem themselves from one of the low points of their season.

The last time the two teams met, in October, the Jags were thrashed 7-1 at Kynoch Park.

That score mirrored the loss at Forres and are Thistle’s heaviest defeats this Highland League campaign.

Nicolson said: “It was our joint heaviest defeat of the season, so it is imperative that we put it right.”

Strathspey were once again without a game last weekend, as their match at Wick was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The last time Thistle played was the 4-1 loss at Inverurie Locos on February 15.

Nicolson admits the only plus point from the break in action is injured trio Andrew Maclean, Andrew Hardwick and Aidan Hersee have more time to recover.

He said: “We are desperate to get games in. The only positive is that the boys with injuries aren’t missing any football.”

Before welcoming Keith to Seafield Park on Saturday, Strathspey were due to play at Fort William on Wednesday.
