'Injured' walker found safe in Badenoch hills

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team are reporting success after a long night's search for a missing walker in the Ben Alder area.

As the alarm went up yesterday evening (Monday, January 13) the team posted "May be a long night.No aircraft support available due to storm conditions."

After five hours Tayside's mountain rescue team had joined the search and it was not long after that the walker was found safe in Ben Alder Cottage Bothy.

Evacuation measures were organised.

Latest post this morning was that the walker, reportedly injured, was safe at the bothy with his friends and the Cairngorm team were making their way back to their vehicles.

"Snowing heavily now.Big up to Tayside MRT."

The local team passed on their thanks for all the messages of support they had received during the operation.
