Casualty stretchered off Cairngorms after latest incident

Days after reporting a busy spell and issuing safety advice, the Cairngorms Mountain Rescue Team were in action again to stretcher a casualty off the heights.

The latest incident happened on Thursday on the Coire an Lochan path.

An appeal for help led to a full team call out for a lower leg injury.

"The casualty was splinted and stretchered for 1km to an awaiting ambulance at @cairngormmountain base station," a team spokesperson posted on social media.

"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."

The team received several call outs last week, promting them to post a warning to all walkers and climbers not to take the heights for granted despite the warm summer weather.

"A few call outs this week with team members also out overnight across the plateau," the team announced on their website.

"It's worth having a think prior to heading to the hills as, although summer, the weather still remains poor across the tops."

They are directing walkers and climbers to the Mountaineering Scotland sites with the most appropriate advice:
