Traffic is having to crawl through Badenoch this afternoon as reports come through of a road accident in the Calvine area.

Traffic Scotland have posted; “Incident type closure, 2:12pm at A9 Killiecrankie - Calvine.”

Both north and southbound directions have been closed meantime.

“The A9 north of Calvine is closed in both directions due to a road traffic accident, road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.”

SNAKING THROUGH: Traffic had to slow over the Spey Bridge today outside Kingussie as the road team made hay with the sun shining.

The AA heat map of Scottish roads shows a clear caterpillar having formed from the Insh Marshes bridge at Kingussie right though to past Balavil on the road to Kincraig.
