London man missing in Highlands ‘sighted’ in Abernethy National Nature Reserve near Nethy Bridge, but Police Scotland officers growing concerned for welfare of Marc Drostie
Police searching for a missing man in the Highlands are following up on several possible sightings - but are also increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Officers launched an appeal on Sunday for help tracing London man Marc Drostie (28), who is believed to have travelled to the Aviemore area on Thursday, December 12.
In an update on Monday they revealed that they have since received several reports of sightings of him in the Abernethy National Nature Reserve.
But none of these are more recent than Saturday, and officers say that the more time that passes the more their concerns for his wellbeing “continue to grow”.
And they have urged anyone who has seen him to get in touch as soon as possible.
Marc is described as a white man, around 5ft 9in tall, slim build, with dark hair. He is believed to be wearing a black puffer jacket and carrying a blue rucksack.
Inspector Craig Johnstone said: “As time passes, our concern for Marc’s wellbeing continues to grow. I’d like to thank members of the public who have contacted us with possible sightings so far, and would ask anyone with further information to please come forward.
“Anyone with sightings or information of where Marc may be, please call Police Scotland on 101 and quote ‘reference 1774 of December 21’.”
Police said that they had received several reports of sightings of Mr Drostie in the Abernethy National Nature Reserve, near Nethy Bridge, but these all date from between Thursday and Saturday, December 19 to 21.
