The Society of Badenoch and Strathspey Artists is providing a unique opportunity to bid for a rare Frank Bruce sculpture during its forthcoming ‘Art from the Attic’ exhibition at the Iona Gallery in Kingussie.
The Bruce family have decided to offer just one polished wood sculpture for sale.
Bruce rarely sold any of his work during his lifetime.
The Aviemore-based sculptor died in September 2009.
His most famous is his collection of outdoor work at the Frank Bruce Sculpture Trail, near Feshie Bridge, where he had always intended that the collection would gradually succumb to the ravages of time and climate.
This indoor piece standing about two feet high is thought to be the only example of Frank’s work available for sale anywhere in Britain and perhaps even worldwide.
Dave Fallows, chair of the trustees of SBSA, said: “We are honoured that the Bruce family have chosen to give us the opportunity to sell this piece, and to display it alongside four other examples of Frank’s work during our exhibition.
"We will be accepting sealed bids for this beautiful piece, over a reserve of £950."
The bids will be opened on the final day of the show on October 16 at 4pm.
The show is open from Monday 4th October to Saturday 16th, from 11am to 4pm every day except Sunday.
