A popular Strathspey hostelry helped through all the many challenges of this torturous year by loyal and generous locals, has decided Christmas is not just a time to give – it’s a time to give back.

So Glenmore’s cosy Pine Marten Bar & Scran is going to give away free Christmas dinners to those most in need of them.

At the bar earlier this week, landlord Scott Fleming said: “We would just like to help out anyone who finds themselves in a tough situation this year especially because of added Covid pressure.

“So anyone who is in need of a wee hand this year and wants a Christmas dinner delivered on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day need only email or phone us, to let us know a name and address and how many people it’s for.

“Oh and a phone number, just in case we get lost trying to deliver it!”

In this tough year, his partner Katie Jachacy said: “The whole community has been behind us from day one, and we just thought it would be good to give something back.

“It will all be done as discreetly as possible and the meal can simply be left in a bag or at someone’s door and we can phone or text to let diners know it’s there.”
