Police Scotland is advising motorists to take extra care when travelling on Highland roads today.

Heavy rain and bad weather continues to affect all roads throughout the region and particularly in the Inverness area.

The following roads near or in the Highland capital are currently closed to all vehicles due to flooding:

Culloden Road

Diriebught Road

Milton Of Leys A9 Underpass

B9006 Inverness To Nairn Road at Sunnyside Caravan Park

The A9 and A96 are still open although badly affected by standing water.

A police spokesperson said: "Motorists should allow extra time when planning their journey and can expect long delays on some roads.

"Further details can be obtained from the Traffic Scotland website or on local radio."
