The ancient pinewood forest in Carrbridge will be lit up again this winter, it has been confirmed.

The Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS experience will be returning to the award-winning Landmark Forest Adventure Park once again bringing a festive glow.

The lights display will take place from November 22 to January, next year, and again during the February half term which runs from February 6 to 18.

Visitors follow a one-kilometre woodland trail and immerse themselves in the enchanting ancient pinewood forest, illuminated by thousands of lights, sounds and effects.

Special features include a UV light tunnel and a 'Red Squirrel Trail', a treetop journey that takes visitors eight meters up into the forest canopy for stunning views of the illuminated woodland below.

Landmark Forest Adventure Park is taking part in this year’s VisitCairngorms winter campaign, which is promoting the UK’s largest national park as the ultimate winter travel destination for 2025/26.

Lisa Anderson, marketing and sales Manager at Landmark Forest Adventure Park, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS experience for 2025.

“Thousands of lights will once again illuminate the pinewood forest, casting a festive glow and creating a truly magical atmosphere.

“This year, we’re introducing a range of exciting new features to enhance the event, while also bringing back visitor favourites such as our spectacular laser show.

“Our Red Squirrel Trail - which takes visitors up to 8 metres into the treetops - will be transformed into a dazzling UV light tunnel, offering a unique experience in the illuminated forest.

“With around 12,000 visitors expected, we’re excited to welcome people of all ages from across Scotland and the rest of the UK to this remarkable experience.”

The trail incorporates the original Treetop Trail, built nearly 30 years ago and now expanded for improved accessibility, including buggy and wheelchair access.

Two catering outlets and a marshmallow roasting pit will offer a selection of delicious snacks and drinks.

Landmark Forest Adventure Park was named ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ 2024 at the Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards (HITA).
