There has been one additional confirmed case of coronavirus in the Highlands in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

Prior to that, the region had gone six days with a new recorded case.

It takes the total registered by NHS Highlands to 376. The number of people being treated in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 is six, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

A total of nine people have tested positive across the Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 18,296.

And 2488 people who tested positive have died across the country since the outbreak began. Scottish Government said a "technical issue" meant it did not know how many coronavirus-related deaths had been reported in the past day.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded one more case since yesterday, taking its tally to 1426. Its hospitals were treating 38 people for the disease, with fewer than five receiving treatment in intensive care.
