Another Covid-19 death confirmed in Highlands

The NHS Highland area has recorded just one new death from either confirmed or suspected Covid-19 after two weeks without any fatalities.
That means the current death toll is now 114 after the first fatalities emerged in the health board area on March 23.
Each Wednesday the National Records of Scotland (NRS) issues numbers of cases where Covid-19 has been mentioned on a death certificate.
A total of 114 coronavirus deaths have been registered in the NHS Highland region, with the additional death coming in a care home bringing the total in that setting to 38.
Elsewhere 15 people died at home and 61 in hospital.
In the smaller Highland Council area the death toll remains at 50.
The new fatality came in a care home so the total for the council area is now 15 in care homes with seven at home and 28 in hospital.
The NHS Highland area includes Argyll and Bute Council and Highland Council areas and has a combined population of around 320,000.
The Highland Council area has approximately 235,000 residents.
Scotland as a whole has seen a rise in the total number of Covid-19 deaths of just 35 – which is down 14 from the previous week – bringing the total to 4155.
That is up from 4119 registered seven days ago, though the rate of increase has fallen for the eighth week in a row.
In a more detailed breakdown of the national numbers, 1934 people died in care homes, 289 people died at home, 1925 died in hospital and seven elsewhere.
